Q:

What's phishing?

A:

Phishing is the practice of sending emails that claim to come from us or another company you may have legitimate dealings with.

Criminals generate phishing emails to gain confidential information to defraud both individuals and companies.

Such emails may claim it's necessary to ‘update’ or ‘unlock’ an account using a link to a bogus web site, where you'll be asked to input sensitive details such as PINs and passwords.

Please remember we'll never ask you to provide Bankline PINs, passwords or other security details in an email.

If you're concerned that your Bankline security may have been compromised by responding to a phishing email, then please contact the Bankline Security helpline.
