Will every bank be using Confirmation of Payee?

A:

It’s up to individual banks and payment providers to decide if they will participate and when to introduce Confirmation of Payee.  

If you’re sending a payment to a bank that doesn’t currently use Confirmation of Payee, we’ll send you a message in Bankline that says:

‘Confirmation of Payee is not yet available for this account. We recommend you contact the payee to confirm that the bank details are correct. If you continue then you could be at risk of being scammed and we may not be able to recover your money.’
