Why have you changed the smartcard readers?

A:

With an increasing amount of payments being made online, we need to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep your Bankline profile secure.

Under the second EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2), new regulations on Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) have been introduced. As part of this directive we’ve introduced QR scanning functionality at log in and for payment approvals in Bankline. The new card readers we’ve sent you allow you to scan these codes for a more secure Bankline experience.
